Lomonosov exhibition opens at UN

An exhibition dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian scientist Mikhail Lomonosov opened Tuesday at the UN headquarters in New York.
It was prepared by the Permanent Mission of Russia together with the radio station "Voice of Russia" and by the "Russian World" Fund.
The exposition was opened by envoy Vitaly Churkin.
He noted the role of the great compatriot in the formation of the modern Russian language spoken by more than 300 million people.
Mikhail Lomonosov was the first Russian natural scientist of world importance.
He went down in history as a champion of national education and science.
