BELOKURIKHA, Russia, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- The tourism industry in Russia is expanding with health resorts a popular pick for vacations, the deputy head of the Federal Tourism Agency said.
Tourism is growing at a rate of 7 percent a year and one third of Russians favor health resorts as their vacation destination, Grigory Sarishvili said. said.
Speaking at a conference in the Altai territory, Sarishvili said, "health resorts are gaining popularity."
Health resorts in certain regions are fully booked fully year-round," ITAR-Tass reported Tuesday.
